Our Journey
From Shopify store to Shopify Partner.
The Beginning
We launched our first business together — an online women’s clothing boutique powered by Shopify. We were eCommerce newbies, but we believed in our brand and were excited to grow.
The Breakthrough
After a rough first month, we tried influencer marketing. Countless hours of research and A/B testing later, we cracked the code. In less than 4 weeks, monthly sales grew from $3K to $50K.
Scaling the Playbook
We replicated the process with 3 more brands, growing to work with over 8,000 creators in 30+ countries. We had gotten it down to a science.
Identifying A Problem
With massive growth from creator programs came equally massive problems. Scale was nearly impossible to manage with our scrappy team — drowning in spreadsheets, with 80% of our week spent talking to creators, gifting products, tracking posts, and paying commissions instead of running the business. We tried everything: hiring a VA, installing existing solutions on the Shopify App Store. Everything fell short. So we decided to build our own.
Buzzbassador is Born
In January 2020, we launched our solution publicly to help other Shopify merchants who were struggling to scale their creator and affiliate programs — and Buzzbassador was live. We had come full circle: from Shopify merchants to Shopify Partners and App Developers.
