GoNanas, a women-owned better-for-you baking brand on a mission to reduce the waste of overripe bananas, had built something genuinely unusual in the food and beverage space: a product people wanted to talk about. Their banana bread mixes, vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, and dairy-free, with flavors ranging from Original and Chocolate Chip to Salted Caramel and Cinnamon Roll, had earned placement at Target and Whole Foods and press coverage in BuzzFeed, Forbes, USA Today, and Morning Brew.
